Entry 20 : Summer months in Okinawa

Okinawa lies in the Tropic of Cancer zone. This means its climatic influence is sub-tropic. The winter can go as low as 9c but as the warm sea breeze influence the island, there is no snow. I guess if there is a mountain on the island, we might see the occasional snow.
The summer is mild with topping at 33c the highest. Having said that, humidity is high especially during cloudy days or after a bout of heavy rain. It feels like swimming in the air in the house. What we normally do is when the air is heavy in the house as we use the room humidifier to suck up the dampness in the room.  After a couple of hours, the water catchment container can accumulate 500ml of water from the air.
The image on top is summer in July 2022. The temperature outside the house is 33c but reduced to 30c in the house. The government has been urging residents to keep the cool air conditioning on and to maintain it at 28c in the house. But we turn on the dry air conditioning to reduce humidity in the house. From 72 it dropped to 63 with the help of two stand fans running at full blast.
Anyway, its a blessing not to have extremes in temperatures on this island.

Entry 19 : Courtesy

Since I returned from Singapore, I've neglected this blog. I've lots to write. Then yesterday, I write about some interesting experiences, only to be accidentally deleted by some mechanical keyboard misfunction. Don't know why the letters just kept repeating themselves. It can't be the virus because I'm using the Chromebook.
Anyway, the image here is taken when the cleaning crew has completed their task on the plane. As we were about to board, they lined up waving, some taking off their caps & some making repeated bows to us. I was so impressed. They are the crews for Japan Airlines.
