Entry 22 : Left eye op

I had my left eye op on 29th June 2022 and this time it was for a cataract. Unlike before, there is no hospital stay for this op. It's a 10 min-op and home aftercare. At the time of writing, one week has passed after the op and my sight was medium nearsightedness of -2.5

I can see within 1.2m but further, than this, I still need the glasses. I've started putting on shortsighted glasses since 13 years old, seems like a lifetime. But for the first time now, I feel my nose heaving a sigh of relief from the burden of holding a heavy pair of glasses. I need to wait till the end of August, which is another 3 weeks for the onsen, sauna and hot-stone bed sauna for the new lens to settle in.

Entry 21 : Right eye op

I had my right-side eye op two years ago, 21 Dec 2020 to be exact, for epiretinal membrane. This membrane needed to be taken out as it progressively would cover up the retinal. I had a cataract simultaneously, so it's like a two-in-one op. I had to be warded for 5 days and the op time lasted 1.20 mins. I was given anaesthetic by intravenous drips, so there's no pain during the op. With the new internal lens, I can see within 1m.

Since this occasion was the first time I was warded so far living in Japan for 26 years, I find the food they served is totally healthy and sufficient for my daily food intake. I was warded in Ryukyu Univ. Hosp which is about 4 km away from my house.
